4110 Policy – Citizen Advisory Committees, Task Forces and Advisory Groups

The superintendent may appoint a citizen advisory committee, task force or advisory group as necessary to gather public input and/or establish interaction with the community about selected issues. The committee will study district/school topics and submit findings and recommendations to the superintendent. Committees, task forces and groups will be formed by authorization of the superintendent. Such authorization shall include a plan with the following components: purpose(s)/goal(s), basis for establishment, decision-making process, plan and scope of work (including duration, frequency and length of meetings), internal and external communications plan (including reporting relationships), members (regular and exofficio), responsibilities, timeline and budget implications.

The superintendent shall establish procedures for inviting the participation of students, staff, parents/guardians and community members on committees, task forces and groups. These procedures shall include a process for ongoing communications with the board and stakeholders prior to decisions.
